Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

TL;DR
  • Your food data stays on your device — we never see it.
  • No account, no tracking, no ads, no analytics.
  • The AI feature sends your daily food summary to Groq to generate a reply — nothing else.
  • To delete your data, just clear your browser storage.

1. Overview

egglog is designed with privacy as a default. We do not require an account, we do not track you, and we do not sell your data. This policy explains what little data is involved when you use the App.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

All food logs, calorie goals, macro targets, settings, and streaks are stored exclusively on your device using your browser's IndexedDB (via Dexie.js). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app will permanently delete this data.

3. AI Companion — Data Sent to Third Parties

When you use the AI chat feature, egglog sends the following information to Groq (groq.com): a summary of your food log for the current day (total calories, macros, and food names), and your question. This data is transmitted solely to generate a response and is subject to Groq's Privacy Policy. We do not include your name, email, or any personally identifiable information in these requests. You can review Groq's privacy policy at groq.com.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, device identifiers, IP address logs, or any behavioral analytics. egglog has no user accounts and no backend database storing your personal information.

5. Cookies and Tracking

egglog does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics. No advertising networks are used.

6. Children's Privacy

egglog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.

7. Data Security

Since your food data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device's own security measures. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a screen lock. For the AI feature, data is transmitted over HTTPS to Groq's servers.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. To delete your egglog data, simply clear your browser's site data for the egglog domain.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Contact

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us through the App's feedback channel.
