1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using egglog ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
egglog is a free, offline-first calorie and nutrition tracking application. All data is stored locally on your device. The App provides a food database, calorie logging, macro tracking, and an optional AI companion feature powered by a third-party language model.
3. No Account Required
egglog does not require you to create an account. All your food logs, goals, and settings are stored exclusively on your device using your browser's local storage. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal food data.
4. AI Companion Feature
The AI chat feature is powered by the Groq API. When you use it, your food log summary for the current day (total calories, macros, and food names) is sent to Groq's servers to generate a response. No personally identifiable information is included in this request. The AI feature is limited to 5 uses per device. Responses are for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.
5. Nutritional Accuracy
Calorie and macro values in the egglog food database are estimates based on publicly available nutritional data and standard recipes. Actual values may vary depending on preparation method, ingredients, and portion size. egglog is not a substitute for professional dietary advice. Always consult a qualified health professional for medical or nutritional guidance.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code within egglog are the property of the egglog developers. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without written permission.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
egglog is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the nutritional data. We are not responsible for any health decisions made based on information provided by the App.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, egglog and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
